A Cooler weather food

20Aug08

We have been having some thunder storms lately with just plain cooler days so I decided it was okay to make some soup/stew.  M loves this stuff so much and I don’t blame him cause it is pretty darn good, and easy to make and and and! Can be used for multiple dinners that week, not just one.  Oh yes.  See below please

What you will need:

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1 can green beans – your fav type
  • 1 small can corn
  • 1 can kidney beans (undrained)
  • 6 large white mushrooms cubed(about)
  • 2 red potatoes diced
  • oregano
  • basil
  • garlic powder (or the real stuff)
  • Pepper
  • at least 1 carrot (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomatoes (I use diced)
Brown the beef and as you brown break it up into small pieces.  Drain the beef and then add to a big 6qt or so pot.  Add to it, everything.  That’s right just start adding all the cans of stuff in.  I let it all cook together for 2 hours so that the flavors can penetrate.  With the spices, I say add to your taste and if you want to add something else go for it.  This is so yummy, I think I will go eat some of it now.  This taste great with Ritz crackers also if you like those things with soup.  M breaks up his Ritz into it.  Mmm.  So freaking yummy.
